Approaching oil and graphite on camvas on board 21x21.5cm, 2009

Statement

Inspired by an interest in natural history and the work of both the biologist and the landscape historian, I engage with the formation of a landscape and the organic materials within it. My work derives from a daily connection to countryside and through walking and collecting natural substances and objects, a personal journal develops, of remembered responses and experiences that go on to inform my paintings.
