Statement
In the 21st Century we are bombarded by an onslaught of rapid-fire images from all sides of the media. The arrival of new technologies has flooded every aspect of our lives with de-contextualised imagery. My work, constructed from found or discarded cyberspace refuse, attempts to form a new world that evokes a sense of the past. Hours are spent sifting through these images to find a sense of tangible history that allude to a fleeting experience of reality. Their detailed and meticulous assembly in oil paint or ink is a necessary endurance in transforming digital nothingness into a material and meaningful physicality.
